Beverly Hills Wedding Photographer Jen OSullivan bio picture

Welcome!

Congratulations on your engagement! Now that you have found your partner, picked a date, and hopefully nailed down your venue, it is time to hire your photographer. My name is Jen O’Sullivan, a boutique wedding photographer who specializes in portrait journalism. I love what I do. I am blessed. Beyond what I ever could have imagined! I have some of the best clients on the planet, the most supportive and loving husband, and the absolute cutest son ever! Check out his latest photo editorial on my Facebook profile. facebook.com/jenosullivan
Okay, so here is the boring stuff: I have been working in the commercial and event photography business throughout Southern California since 1998, and became a full time wedding photographer in 2004 after getting married to Tim, my High School sweetheart and Junior High crush. (Yes, we went to prom together.) I quickly left the commercial business behind after having such a hard time finding just the right photographer for my own wedding. I decided to try to change the way Wedding Photography is offered to brides and grooms. I have an open door, open book policy which no other photographer offers to my knowledge. You will become my friends, and I love that! I will photograph your first baby photos, just because I want to gift that to you. You will become part of my “family.” As a boutique wedding photographer, I want you to get all the attention you deserve. Your wedding is one of the most important days in your life and I am blessed to be a part of it. I want you to love your day over and over again. My desire is to give you peace of mind knowing you have chosen the right person; someone you can trust to capture your memories that will last a lifetime. These are exciting times - cherish every moment, and don’t forget to live! laugh! love!

Getting it All Done

I often get asked how I am able to get so many things done being a full full full time business owner (I own 3 full fledged businesses,) a full time mom & wife, part time teacher, and have time to spare to hang out with my family. There are four simple mottos I live by that may help you to put your life into perspective.

1. LOVE WHAT YOU DO
Yes, I do work a bit harder than the average person, but it helps that I love what I do. I really love it… ALL of it. You have to be able to say that about all areas of your life. If one area is bringing you down, figure out how to fix it or eliminate it all together.

2. TOUCH IT ONCE
One of my Art Center instructors during my 8th term gave me this little tid bit and it has stuck with me for most areas of my life. If you use the “touch it once” philosophy, you will get more done. There is nothing worse than a looming, nagging sensation that you forgot to do something. When emails come in, I answer them, otherwise they will get buried under more emails and I will never get to it. When working on a project, I try to finish it to completion before I start on another (small projects as larger ones don’t apply.)

3. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF
- I eat really well. Lots of fruits and vegis (mostly a vegan diet with the occasional ice cream splurge.) No caffeine (sorry all you caffeine junkies, if you want to change the world you have to rip that IV right out of your arm.)
- I also try to get a full 8 hours of sleep. Even though I am often found working til 3 or 4 in the morning, when this happens, my wonderful husband will take Jacob in the morning so I can sleep in.
- Go for walks. This will help clear your mind and get your blood pumping. It is said that walking is the best exercise you can do.

4. FAMILY FIRST
Now my extended family would beg to differ on this, but when it comes to Tim and Jacob, I always work around their schedule. We always have lunch and dinner together and try to spend as much time just hanging out. It will make you feel more grounded so when you do start working on a project you are energized.

So there you have it! Now get out there and change the world already!
